I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.
I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.
Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.
I have all MS updates but the problem continues.
Please advise.

Navigate through the registry by expanding these Keysets: HKLM > System > CurrentControlSet > Control > Power > CsEnabled. Change the value from 1 to 0 and restart.

I am having similar issues with my SP4 draining the battery when switched off. But I'm totally lost here as to what connected standby is?
When I am done with my SP4 I choose "shut down" which seems to switch it off completely, as when I go to use it again, it does a full boot up and then has to sign me in, then it finishes loading up the usual initial startup programs. Isn't that a full shutdown?
I don't use my SP4 very often these days, but do a drain/recharge every so often to try and keep the battery healthy. I usually find even after a long time that there is "some" battery left when I start it up.
But today I switched it on after it being "shut down" for 28 days and the battery was totally dead, it wouldn't boot up at all until the charger had been connected for a few minutes. Is that normal?
I know that drainage happens, but I'm sure that usually if I leave it for a month or so, that the battery has still had maybe 30-40% battery life left in it.
Can someone clarify what connected standby is and how it differs from "shut down"? Thanks
I have been going over your battery report so maybe some preliminary observations.
You show a 38 mWh battery, where my system has a 45,000 mWh battery, according to battery reports.. I have a 2-in-1 laptop designated as a mobile device.
On the 13th, from 10:57 to 13:14 or about 2 hours, your system goes between connected standby and Active about 14 times. Is that you just using your system or something else making it go active?
The one thing which pops out at me is, on the 15th at 18:59:52, the system goes into Connected Standby for 13:15:01 hours. During that time it uses 95% of your battery. Other periods of Connected Standby can use 1% in 5-8 minutes according to the report regarding Duration and Energy Drained.
If your system is using ~7% per hour then it can certainly deplete a battery in 13 hours. If you had it set to hibernate after 1 hour, it would only have depleted the ~7% instead of 95%.
If we had a Sleep Study report, we could check those periods for power usage.
