Battery Drains While Shutdown

I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.

I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.

Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.

I have all MS updates but the problem continues.

Please advise.

THX! :)

Here is an updated report.  Last night I unplugged the surface from the charger and shut down at 100%.  I starter the machine and it was showing 94% power, a 6% drain.  The report shows it was at 86% after draining 6% while use after startup.  I cannot account for the remaining percentage.  Further research has shown many people experiencing similar issues but no resolution.

Here is a copy of the sleep study.  It only goes back to the 31st.  I am finding it a little difficult to read since it doen't seem to show battery power at start up.  Yet, it looks like on 6-1 I was at 86% percent and had only used 5% batter power which would make me conclude it was at 92% percent at startup.  I had shut down the evening before at 100%.  I may try this evening shutting down at 100% and seeing what the percentage is tomorrow evening.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Were you able to run a battery report - sleep study? If you haven't, follow the steps below to run the battery report:

    1. On the Search bar/Cortana, type cmd to search for the Command Prompt.
    2. Press and hold or right-click and select Run as administrator.
    3. On the Command Prompt, type po****wercfg sl****eepstudy.
    4. Open the file location of the said report. (It will appear as sleepstudy-report.html)

Kindly post a screenshot of the recent usage or at least one week of the report here. You may also upload the HTML file using OneDrive then share the link.

We're looking forward to your response.
