Battery Drains While Shutdown

I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.

I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.

Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.

I have all MS updates but the problem continues.

Please advise.

    Sorry, I don't have any other advice to offer - there are numerous threads where
    others have complained about this issue and Microsoft has not offered any real
    fix. Some are told to completely wipe and reset their SP4, but this does not
    provide a resolution as they return to report they still have the issue.

    Tried recalibrating the battery and complete shutdown with the command. Still 11% drainage (from 100%) in 10 hours.

    I have checked my battery report and found that battery dropped from 100% to 7% in one week while shutdown and with CS enabled = false...

    I haven't studied it after installing 1903 update, though.

    Hi, TotalLoser1977.  A sleepstudy report will show you what's eating Watts when you've ordered Windows to shutdown.  The report will also show what state you're in.  On my Surface if I tell it to shutdown and then close the lid (signaling I want it to go to sleep), it will enter a sleep state instead of a shutdown.  The powercfg /sleepstudy command will not report what happens after a hardware shutdown, what Windows will label as an "abnormal shutdown".  However based one test, I did, the Surface still used an average of 0.03 Watts over 11 hours (1260 joules).

    So am I now Barb :)

    I'll do a comparison and see how much it drops after 1 hour for each shutdown type.
