Recently bought the Surface Pro 128GB.
Having been annoyed by the temperament of the touchpad, I bought a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse.
What I've found is that, when copying data over a network, the bluetooth mouse begins to lag.
Using the touchpad/pen is unaffected.
Makes me wonder whether the Wireless NIC and Bluetooth Module are using the same bus and/or whether this is a known issue.

Given the fact that MS keeps silent on this problem and its sister issue (i.e. wifi slowdowns when bluetooth is under high usage), I'm going to send a letter to various IT magazine and webzine editors (e.g. wired, cnet, techradar, arstechnica, techcrunch, computerworld, itworld) to highlight this shameful question.
Any other recipients to suggest?
Given that the new pen is bluetooth enabled, this could blow up really fast if they haven't resolved the problem for the new hardware.
the surface pro 3 was just released today so id say they are far more concerned with making things right for their "new" customers. theyve got our money already so why should they care about us and our problems.
im not sure if they will be getting any more money off me though. the surface pro 3 is a bit big for my liking. the surface pro 2 has the same bug as the surface i have so im out of options
Unfortunately Microsoft seems to have no intention of making this right for their customers. We have repeatedly asked on this community site for a straight answer to the issue and have gotten no meaningful response. Ignoring a major defect in their flagship product and ignoring customer outcry about it is simply absurd. That is not the kind of thing that lands you repeat customers.
Microsoft needs to acknowledge the issue and be proactive about making this right for their customers. Does anybody know how we might get in touch with somebody higher up on the Surface team or higher in management at Microsoft who might actually push to fix this issue for us? Perhaps we can get this issue picked up by some tech publications to put pressure on Microsoft for a fix. If they won't listen to us I am sure they would listen to bad press.
Same interference related lagging between Wedge and Surface Pro 2.
Disappointed that a supposedly high end product can have this kind of user experience.
Another reason to buy Apple.
To be fair, ANY computer that uses this chipset will have the same Bluetooth lag when the 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi is maxed out. This includes the most recent and prior generation of the MacBook Air. The Apple discussion forums have a similar thread with the same complaints, and I have tested this on my wife's MacBook Air as well.
If it could be fixed with a driver update, I'm sure it would have been by now. The fact that that has not happened indicates it is a physical design issue.
Yeah, I'm also pretty convinced it's a hardware issue.
What puzzles me is, how could it be that such HUGE companies designed their machines including this chipset without even testing it?
Also, why don't they bring Marvell to court for selling them this dodgy chipset?
Why should we accept this ridiculous issue?
