Bluetooth Mouse lag

Recently bought the Surface Pro 128GB.

Having been annoyed by the temperament of the touchpad, I bought a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse.

What I've found is that, when copying data over a network, the bluetooth mouse begins to lag.

Using the touchpad/pen is unaffected.

Makes me wonder whether the Wireless NIC and Bluetooth Module are using the same bus and/or whether this is a known issue.

    Recently bought the Surface Pro 128GB.

    christ almost a year since you posted this and there doesnt seem to be any solution yet. im in the same boat as yourself, 128GB Surface Pro. windows 8.1 everything updated. 

    im using a Lenovo bluetooth keyboard and any time there is something downloading or if a program like evernote is syncing data the trackpoint/mouse pointer starts to lag really bad. the keyboard part doesnt seem to lag as much or maybe i just dont notice it. 

    ive only had it a week and already its getting really annoying switching to the pen just to get things done on it, or having to use the touchscreen if i dont have my pen with me. im hoping it wont take them another year to fix this problem

    This setting is also not available for Intel Adapters (i.e. my Dell E6430). Still suffering with the lag, very disappointing...

    I think I found the solution!

    Right click your Wifi bars in the tray and open Network and Sharing Center --> Click the blue text that has your network name to get to "WiFi Status" --> Click Properties(Bottom Left) --> Configure --> Advanced Tab.  Scroll down the list and go to "Bluetooth Collaboration".  Change the setting to "Disable".

    Then turn Bluetooth Off/on in PC settings.

    I am using a Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse and Wedge Mobile Keyboard over Bluetooth.  The mouse had a quarter second lag that was very irritating, but now it feels perfectly smooth.

    FYI, this only works on systems with a Broadcom chipset. The Surface and Surface Pro use a Marvell chipset which doesn't have that feature.

    Ah, that's a bummer!

    However this signifies that, even though Bluetooth and WiFi use the same band and bandwidth, the issue may be solvable via software.

    So please MS, work with Marvell for a solution! It is simply unacceptable to have this lag on such first class machines.
