This issue is ongoing I have been in contact with Surface support and they have sent me two already and they were both dead on arrival. I am waiting to hear back from them and hope to get a solution soon.
Power Cover Not Charging 100% 0% 100% ???

I've seen many post, but no answers? Surface Pro Classic and just bought a Power Cover. Power Cover is recognized as both a keyboard and a battery under devises. All firmware ever pushed is there and updated. Battery #1 and Battery #2 show in the battery menu...but not charging or maybe 100% charged is completely depleted.
Once the internal battery reaches 80% (or so) the Power Cover charge goes from 0% to 100% and not charging. Once the internal battery is depleted, the Surface shuts off and the Power Cover sits there happily doing nothing to help.
Has Microsoft just ignored the many people that this problem has occurred to, or is there not a fix. I'm trying to hold out till the Surface Go, but this battery thing is annoying to deal with.
Please don't add the gif. of how the batteries charge or how the blue fills the keyboard and monitor, please please don't answer with that.

The battery charges and discharges as it should. The Surface now holds for at least 8-10 hours of regular use. Just one thing: It should go down to 20%, then use the main down to 20%, then the cover to 0%... In reality, it goes all the way down to 0% and then uses the main battery. Any ideas?

2017-02-15T14:14:57+00:00 This is rather unnerving.. I requested a replacement power cover back in November as it is still under hardware warranty until 6/27 of this year. Sent in my device, then got a tracking number saying my replacement device had been shipped. It's February now and the tracking shows the device was never shipped, honestly forgot about it until now. If I attempt to go the the surface support page and do their live chat, it asks me for the product, I select power cover, but then it asks to select a problem and the bar never loads. So I cannot select a problem and start the live chat.. Now I guess i'm forced to call in.

I used a typical 5V 500mA power supply from my mp3 to wake the cells. I attached the voltage to each cell without detaching the cells. 5 seconds of voltage attachment rose the voltage of each cell from 1.72V to 2.9V. Now it charges like charm. I covered the back with a precision cut piece of thin black pvc and it is even better than new. Now I have more than 10+ hours of battery life in w10 pro2. Before going to surgery I tried everything but nothing worked.

Fantastic indeed! Once I put the 5v. terminals to the first 2 battery packs the other 2 packs caught the charge and the 4 raised to 3.3v
RIght now charging at 18% and keeping up. I'll figure out later how to close it back keeping the fabric as seamless as possible.

2017-02-02T20:56:15+00:00 my solution is to charge computer with out keyboard to around 90% then repeatedly plug and unplug keyboard until it starts charging normally took about 50 tries.
