My SP7 stalls/freezes in tablet mode without the keyboard attached, or anything else including the charger.
Surface Pro 2017 touchpad mouse freezing
I've got a new Surface Pro 2017 and today the mouse pointer being driven by the touchpad has started freezing for 1-2 seconds.
All the latest updates are installed.
I've removed the mouse from device manager and then ran Scan for new Hardware.
I've removed and re-installed the lastest Surface firmware package.
But it still does it, however it only seems to happen when the device is on power. It works fine on battery.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Greg

2020-02-18T16:44:26+00:00 Has anyone tried using an aftermarket surface pro keyboard? Amazon has a couple like Moko and Fintie. Although I will not excuse Microsoft for this, trying out a different keyboard for troubleshooting purposes might be well received by this forum.

2020-02-17T23:43:26+00:00 Interesting, I on the other hand if you read my latest post: I said that I no longer have this issue. But it is also to note that I no longer (signed out) use the cloud services as I did before. Are you using Gdrive or Odrive?

2020-02-17T17:48:10+00:00 Well thanks everyone for your input on this. It feels like a self help group that is yet to stumble on the answer to the meaning of life!
I’ve literally tried everything. All to no avail. The latest observation is that when my work is being saved up to the cloud (un plugged and not on charge as well as vice versa note) the cursor freezes.
so there we have it. The MS Surface Pro has a MAJOR fault that MS obviously know about otherwise why would they remain so stubbornly silent on the subject.
Im not happy. This kit is not old. It is relatively expensive and i now have to go buy a completely different lap top - not a MS I can assure you. Shame on you MS.
