Surface Pro 2017 touchpad mouse freezing

I've got a new Surface Pro 2017 and today the mouse pointer being driven by the touchpad has started freezing for 1-2 seconds.

All the latest updates are installed.

I've removed the mouse from device manager and then ran Scan for new Hardware.

I've removed and re-installed the lastest Surface firmware package.

But it still does it, however it only seems to happen when the device is on power. It works fine on battery.

Any ideas?

    I have the same issue on a Surface Pro 6.  Brand new.  looking at this thread I believe it only happens when the Surface pro is charging.  when on battery and fully charged the trackpad appears to behave.

    Feels like an issue when under charge.  charger is the Microsoft one that came with the surface pro 6.

    This is very frustrating as I am now considering if I should replace the signature type cover, the surface pro or simply return both and buy an apple device.

    Shame as I do like the SP6.

    Any thoughts on if its worth trying to get replacements?

    I just got an after market charger and when I plugged it in, I started to have issues with my touchpad freezing up.  When I unplug it, my touchpad works perfectly on battery.  It works perfectly with my microsoft charger.  It seems to me that Microsoft is trying to force us to purchase a Microsoft brand charger at twice the cost and with poor longevity.

    I have the issue whether plugged in, or on battery.  In fact the issue might be even worse on battery.

    I have an original Surfacebook and the trackpad freezes every 15-30 minutes for 1 to 5 seconds.

    During the freeze the USB icon briefly flashes in task bar.

    I checked Event viewer and at the time of the freeze Windows logs: 

    Touch/Touchpad Hardware Quality Assurance verification succeeded.

    Trying everyting to fix this annoyance!

    I just did a test with my OEM charger and could not replicate the issue. Therefore, I highly suspect that the problem is from my aftermarket charger I bought from amazon. Since the touchpad only freezes when connected to the aftermarket charger. I did the comparison test on the same outlet and location.
