Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    I really cant understand why such a big company can not resolve the issue? why the hell they did not recall all the faulty laptops? and if a lot of people around the world are asking for solution MS is hibernated.... what a shame

    Clearly it seems to me that MS know the problem exists. The up to 3 yr fix where, if you actually meet the time frame is bad enough. Then you (Yes YOU) need to"prepare" your laptop for packaging off to MS. Then you have no device ( let's face it we all have another 'spare'  device) on hand cos well you can't rely on your SP4.). Then we wait for the fix with a second hand screen. What a feckin joke. MS are treating its users as fools. Any wonder Linux keeps asking why MS keeps being used. I gave up. Oh and in Oz I suspect the ACL might suggest that we expect our SP4 to perform as reasonably expected for more than 3 years. But MS are too big. They are the school year bully sticking two fingers in the air. If they paid taxes it would be a start but ....

    Mine just started a week ago. Of course, it's out of warranty. Shame because it has never given me any trouble until now. I'll go back to my lap top, besides I need a new boat anchor. LOL

     I currently also have the same problem, unfortunately my warranty expired 2 months ago. I dont have time to sift through 300 posts, does anyone have the solution to this problem, it has been 4 years.

    yes surface pro 4 is a piece of junk. Either connect it thru hdmi and have display only external (on external display no problems therefore graphic card is ok) or repair the connector to the display inside (very difficult by yourself) where i think the problem is.
