Hi All,

Update: Flickergate is now having a forum to bring all affected users at a single platform to plan for resolvement of issue. Please join at

UPDATE: Check FlickerGate.com for videos of the problem and to submit your own.

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

My previous support ticket numbers are:

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

Kind Regards,

Abbas

Well either you are lying and its not SMALL PERCENTAGE or Im very unlucky to get all of that small chance in all of my 8 devices so far!! Its been 3rd year Im stacked with this pathetic excuse of the device....

I had never spent so much time and energy on support calls, chats, emails, updates, reinstalls, resetting....

So why don't you just admit - that you did faulty device line and don't want to take a blame for it - or give us a refund or tested working device - not some refurbished BS.

    Hi

Im having same issues for 3 years now! I paid 1700 GBP for device that didn't worked longer than few months... in the best scenario. First purchase - 28 December 2016

Overheating, switching off and screen flickering makes impossible to use this device - so I was kindly offered and exchange, by now (May 2019) it's 8 TIMES!

    16 May 2019

    20 January 2019

    20 September 2018

    27 August 2018

    8 August 2018

    14 March 2018

    30 July 2017

    4 January 2017

The latest replacement is 3 days old - and here we go again - feels like Im going blind!

For a little while is human eye ties to adapt to it! So I think its very demanding not only to my work but to my health as well! Good Im not epileptic LOL

THIS replacement process is getting ridiculous! All those reinstallations are time consuming and have negative affect on my work and health!

I do own Surface Pro 3 and its still works just fine - never had issues with it.

For all this time I was refused refund, different model or at least BRAND NEW product - I keep getting refurbished devices - which are having same issues or even worst

Im mean ****? Why did I spend 1700 GBP for device that even after 8 replacement didn't last 2 years warranty period?!?!
