Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    Hi, I am also having the same issue, have been for a few months, with my screen flickering and I use my system for data entry and it is almost impossible to read what I type. How can I get the replacement first so that I do not miss out working while waiting for the new device, I do not have a back up device and I cannot miss work for 5 days waiting to get the replacement????

    Please contact me asap to let me know if I can personally get a new one sent first, but I am not able to be without a system for that amount of time... please contact me via my email ******@yahoo.com, but now that I am aware that there is no fix I will also be calling to find out about this issue and the replacement. Other than that the surface used to be a great system and I used it for everything.

    Never never more buy any Microsoft product  and demand for refund.

    Dear Mr/s Bryan,

    I am facing the flickering problem for quite some time and decided to look for google for solution and found that this seems a common problem with so many users. Due to this problem I am hardly able to use this Surface Pro4 (as most of the time it flickers non-stop) and feeling that my money went waste. However I am happy to learn that Microsoft has agreed to replace such faulty devices uoto 3 years from the date of purchase, free of charge. Kindly guide me how to proceed further to get it replaced.

    Hi All unfortunately its happens for me twice now. for the first time Microsoft change my device but exactly after two month the same problems happens and since i don't have warranty anymore even for assistance Microsoft charge users,so unfortunately i just use my laptop as a music player.

    I suggest you use your money for better product than this.
