Surface Pro 4, Screen Flickering, Shaking

I purchased SP4 device a few months ago and it was working fine for a month. Then I noticed that when the CPU is at its max, the screen flickers a bit. Investigating further revealed that it flickers even if it is setting idle. It does not flicker if at least one of the following thing is done:

  1. A video being played in browser 
  2. If I keep the touch screen busy by either taping it or keeping a finger on it
  3. If I use the touchpad
  4. If keyboard is used for typing

This resulted in making the device completely unusable while reading articles or ebooks. I am a developer, most of the time I have to read the code and to do that, I have to constantly keep a finger on the touch pad or the screen. I contacted surface support in October and November and was told that the developers are working on the patch. Looking at the updates the developers are pushing since then, I don't think anyone is even aware of the problem there.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem (and the fix) and if not, what's the procedure for the refund? I will rather go for a mac then sacrificing $2000+ for a dancing screen.

    @RS Chakraborty, are you ok ? You still thinking of going for Surface Go? MS is ignoring SP4 problem that affected the whole world. 

    I am definitely NOT BUYING MS PRODUCT ANYMORE. 

    @LEEJASONsg, Basically I was thinking of Surface GO as SP4 exchange. You know, this refurbished unit will be a crap as well. So, what's the point of taking one! I was thinking of exchanging this SP4 with Surface Go (If there were any available option). But I guess, sadly, they won't avail that sort of exchange. And at the end of the day, we are stuck with one costly weird show piece.

    Heard MS is releasing new Surface Go. Did they take any measures in the design to solve this flickering issue? Will that have the same flickering? What do you think? 

    @RS Chakraborty, are you ok ? You still thinking of going for Surface Go? MS is ignoring SP4 problem that affected the whole world. 

    I am definitely NOT BUYING MS PRODUCT ANYMORE. I am sure there are thousands people affect will do the same. 

    I will even tell those that interested not to buy MS product. If MS doesn't response their sub standard product, this is the best way to punish them.

    Hi Bryan,

    I took my device in to the store I bought it, about a month ago. They contacted you guys (not sure who) and were told they couldn't help. I bought it just over 2 yrs ago. Its really disappointing, I had to change the brand new device 2xe before finally getting this one that worked and now this.
