How is your battery life on the Surface Pro 7?

I upgraded to the Surface Pro 7 - 8gb, 256GB from the SP4 8gb, 256GB. My SP4 hardly got an hour of battery and would shut off on battery without warning, so I constantly had it plugged into the wall wherever I went.  I was hoping for much better on the SP7. Currently I am struggling to get a full 5 hours...closer to 4 hours. 

Yes, I know I use Chrome and Edge, a number of Office windows open, might watch some YouTube and Netflix. 

4 to 5 hours seems pathetically small.

Any other comments, suggestions or comparisons? (I know there's a need to 'bed in' a new battery in, I've had the laptop almost 2 weeks now, the battery should be 'bedding' in by now.

    I have tried two Surface Pro i5 8GB tablets over the past two weeks before finally asking for a refund with Amazon. First one showed signs of overheating and had some screen damage. The replacement did not run much cooler, built up a static charge when connected, and (also) drained in about 4 hours normal use.

    Battery life is terrible, even after trying every tweak described in the various MS Answers topics. Just this morning I saw my tablet drain from 100 to 80% in a half hour Skype call. No way will you achieve 10 hours under normal working conditions. For me that was the final straw...

    Yes and that was what got me to 5.5 hrs using extensive battery tests. This isn't a lemon. It was how it was designed

    Maybe send it back through the warranty as it might be a bad unit. I sent mine back and got a new one within a week. If nothing else they are very good with returns. Mine was bought from the USA but I was able to return to Germany from Belgium!

    Yes the new edge and all the updat questions. I get no more 5.5 hrs on battery pro with minimal internet useage. It is a brand new computer less than 10 cycles
