    Hi Ellie_486,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

If you've accidentally turned off the proxy server and need to manually set it up, here's how you can find the IP address and port number, as well as troubleshoot Ethernet and factory reset issues:

If you're unable to find it in the settings, you'll need to ask your network administrator or ISP for the IP address and port number if you're in a business or managed network. If you're on a home network, the proxy might not be set, or it might be handled by your router. Network reset removes any network adapters you have installed and the settings for them. After your PC restarts, any network adapters are reinstalled, and the settings for them are set to the defaults.

    1. Select Start  > Settings  > Network & internet  > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
    2. On the Network reset screen, select Reset now > Yes to confirm.

If your Surface won't even reset, you can also get to the reset option by restarting your Surface from the sign-in screen. Here’s how:

    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key  + L. If you need to, dismiss the lock screen.
    2. Hold the Shift key down while you select Power  > Restart in the lower-right corner of the screen.
    3. After your Surface restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.

Let me know if you need more details or run into issues while trying these steps! Your SincerelyHahn. W - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
