Surface Laptop 3 - Event 4101 "Display driver igfxn stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone been seeing intermittent Event 4101 "Display driver igfxn stopped responding and has successfully recovered" on surface laptop 3? 

Tried all the surface diagnostics tools - all clean. Uninstalled device, reinstalled. - no joy. 

Not had the laptop that long so not sure if updating to the latest surface firmware is the cause. 

Not sure where to go from here. It happen maybe once every few days of constant use - very brief display blanking then recovers. 

Is this a driver issue with the latest intel build? Or hardware issue? Nothing else wrong with the laptop.

    Guys - 

    There's a video Display Driver Stopped Responding - YouTube

    disabling hardware acceleration in troubling applications (mostly MS office applications, chrome, adobe reader) does the trick.. just find out the troubling application - which is specific to each case. 

    My case - Clean windows install has no problem. MS support swapped the surface, new one has the same problem. Intel came up with no solution. Once applications are installed problem reappeared within a week. No problems since 1 month after disabling hardware acceleration in excel/outlook.

    Additionally, this is a known problem to MS - just that we're facing in their hardware with latest windows makes more annoying..

    I've still got these issues on the latest Windows Update on my corporate Surface Laptop 3 i5-1035G7 Iris Plus.

    Granted I'm generally running a teams call with video and doing stuff at the same time but just black screening and coming back again is not conducive to a good working experience. Plus, it's not always just this issue. There are times where it just will refuse to pass any input to the monitor, won't reattach after going to sleep.

    Not been a good experience with these devices and it's likely a thermal design problem as the laptop is about 50/60 degrees on the outside and huffing like a jet engine with the most mundane tasks.

    *** UPDATE ***

    I did not have the issue for several weeks now since I joined the Windows Insider Programme (in Windows Updates menu). I'm so pleased - this issue has been annoying me for months (almost a year now) on my Surface Laptop 3.

    I hope others can benefit from this approach with the same results.

    Same error, same event:
