Now you bring a second SP3 into this with different issues.
For BOTH, did you install all available Windows Updates? Yes or no?
You are saying your wife had the identical issue of not being able to turn it
on?
Please repeat the two button reset:
Make sure that you have shut down your Surface first (or that it is really OFF!
This is important.
Then, press and hold the volume-up button and the power button on your Surface
at the
same time for at least 15 seconds, and then release both.
The screen may flash the Surface logo, but continue holding the buttons down
for at least 15 seconds.
What happens on YOUR SP3 when you do this?
As for your wife's heat issue after several hours, again, are all available
updates installed or not? What programs is she running?
What models SP3 do you have?
It seems odd that you both have the "won't turn on issue". If the two button
reset does not work for the can't turn on issue, you should probably contact
support. go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-my/default.aspx and select Support.
