Fingerprint reader stopped working with Surface Pro 3 after anniversary update

I am using a Surface Pro 4 typepad cover on a Surface Pro 3. Ever since the Windows 10 anniversary update, the fingerprint reader does not work when I turn on the Surface, unless I detach and reattach the typepad cover. The keyboard and mouse work fine - the only problem is with the fingerprint reader.

I tried checking drivers, but the Windows says they are up to date.

    This is extremely annoying. Ive also found that I sometimes need to restart if its been in sleep mode while I’m at work, otherwise it thinks I have not registered my fingerprint until I do a full restart AND THEN detatch and reattach the typecover.

    Same Build here, but the Bug appears even with the older 2.2.10.8 sometimes. But waymore less than with the new one.

    But not so good as from a Surface expected.

    EDIT:

    I think its just coincidence but I noticed that the Fingerprint Reader works everytime if I turned on the Backlight of the Type Cover. If the Backlight is turned off the Fingerprint Reader is buggy.

    can you clarify if you are running the Anniversary Update or the Creators

    Update? (run Winver and post the build number/OS reported)
