Surface book 2 15 inch 256G super low wirte speed

My surface book 2 (15 inch, i7, 16G, 256G ssd) shows high read speed (~3000 mb/s), but super low write speed (~330 mb/s).  I returned my 1st one due to this super low write speed, but 2nd one also show almost same benchmark speed. Based on other reviews, these numbers are consistently reported in 256G ssd model. I wonder if this write speed is normal or it can be improved by firmware update later. If this write speed is normal...why MS used this ssd?. 300mb/s write speed is much slower than my 2yr old surface pro 4 256G (~1000mb/s) and 3yr old 256G ssd(~800mb/s) in my desktop....

    I could accept this W speeds in 300 EUR Chromebook, not in 3K EUR machine , sorry. Plus the way they handle the problem is unacceptable and there is no answer until now. 

    I agree, I am very annoyed. I have to move large amounts of data between my Surface Book and workstation every day, as I do bioinformatics work in my studies. For this purpose I bought the fastest external SSD I could find, it should be able to max the USB 3.1 Gen 1 standard at 625 MB/s. But on my Surface Book the transfer is not even close, 300 MB/s is my max. That's what made me investigate the problem in the first place.

    I will just keep replacing SB2 

    I personally don't feel this problem justifies an RMA, Microsoft has made no claims about the write speeds of their SSD.

    Hi All

    Funny enough I contacted Amazon support in regards to this issue and the representative told me that this is the first time they hear about this issue. And as I purchased the SB2 15 256 via Amazon they suggested to get it replaced so i did, but I bet replacement will also have slow W speed

    That's what they all say! Every support person I have contacted have been unaware of the issue, that's just a normal response to problems that are not official.

    I've researched this problem quite a bit, and I haven't been able to find a single 256 GB Surface Book with better/normal write speeds - appear that Microsoft has a bad implementation of it.
