Msft needs to recall these faulty docks immediately, regardless of whether it's a hardware or software issue. With so many people now working from home and unable to easily access IT support or replacements, this is the right course of action. Sadly they're not a customer centric company, so they don't seem to care about the extreme reputational damage this will cause, but here's hoping they finally stop ignoring this issue and do the right thing.
Surface book 2 not charging
Hello, I noticed today my surface book 2 does not charge while plugging in the charger. I tried both while docking the keyboard in laptop mode and in tablet mode but both does not show any indication of charging. I also noticed the charger does not light up that white led to indicate charging.

2020-03-19T04:33:19+00:00 I had the same issue... My solution was to plugin my USB C charger (from MacbookPro or Samsung Note 9 would also do).
This gave me a slow charger error.. after this I plugged back my normal SB2 charger and then it cleared the error and started charging. I think this is a software issue mostly, at least in my case.

2020-01-17T04:04:34+00:00 Finally found a fix after struggling for two hours. Background: I literally just received my Surface Book 2 today and finished the OS install when I noticed that it was plugged in and not charging. Follow the same steps to see if you luck out like me 😁
STEP 1. Manually detach the tablet from the keyboard.
Its exactly 6 holes up and you want to push your paperclip up and at an angle.
Rationale: We have this tiny charger trying to charge two dead batteries at the same time. Let's isolate our troubleshooting and just focus on one battery at time. Note: if you have a dock, go ahead and plug the base in.
STEP 2: Download the latest drivers and firmware from Microsoft.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56261
Note: Look up your Surface's OS version by 1)Click on the Windows start button and 2) typing in "winver" to get the windows version.
Rationale: This will address a possible battery firmware issue which seemed to do the trick for me.
STEP 3: Uninstall Battery driver from Device Manager and reboot to reinstall
Note: DO NOT CHECK THE BOX LABELED "DELETE THE DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR THIS DEVICE" - This will result in a trip to the Microsoft store. lol
I'm just glad its working. Hope it works for you guys too.

2020-01-14T17:35:01+00:00 Temporarily you can try to turn off the comp entirely, unplug thr charger, ram the block into the floor, plug into wall, plug into laptop. It may charge, but dont try using it cause the slightest movement near the block seems to end it for me. Like a desktop rn. Hope you can access yo jazz
