Hello, I noticed today my surface book 2 does not charge while plugging in the charger. I tried both while docking the keyboard in laptop mode and in tablet mode but both does not show any indication of charging. I also noticed the charger does not light up that white led to indicate charging.

I'm having the same issue @Airslap. I hear this clicking sound when the charger is plugged in and all it does is flicker flicker flicker. This recently started happening (actually just today) everything was fine before that. I am annoyed that I purchased such an expensive laptop and not even a year in I'm having charging issues already.

They did not even check to see if my Surface Book was under warranty, they just handed me a new charger and apologized for the inconvenience. They didn't even ask for any information or a signature.

I have found their customer service at their physical stores to be excellent (online customer service is a different story..).

Did you still have warranty? It is unlikely that they will give me one if my warranty ended right?

A new charger ended up fixing it for me but I also updated Windows and Surface firmware so dont know if that had anything to do with it. The white light was on the charger tip indicating it was supplying power but as mentioned in my post, my computer would not charge (most of the time) and when using the surface dock AC adapter the battery had an exclamation point but no explanation anywhere as to what the error was. Very odd. It was also annoying that Microsoft wanted me to ship the AC adapter and wait another week or two for a replacement which is ridiculous. I ended up escalating and they did the right thing and shipped me the replacement and it took a few days.

So after the second time taking it to the Microsoft Store they gave me a new charger (I was hobbling along with a USB-C charger in the mean time). They checked the charger and confirmed that it was providing no power. It seems like the Surface chargers are a bit unreliable. I'm hoping this new one will last me longer.
