Son of a pup. Apparently MS really does not give a hoot about this obcious non infrequent problem. My surface book 2 was purchased new n 7/19 and sat unused fir 6 mos. I still barely use it. Have had the same issue as others here fir 4 days now: both batteries do not charge rendering the the pad undetachable and useless. We have 3 chargers in the house, which I tried swapping (all MS originals), I have tried the 2 button trick snd contacted MS support who suggests a harddrive reset. The guy was not convincing whatsover and from what I read here, that is a non- solution. Of course, I bought the device at Best buy but am now on Europe, so even IF I have the extended warranty, no way to take advantage. LAST MS hardware purchase for me. MS clearly knows if this issue but the cost benefit makes it worth their while to ignore (plus Gates has his head in the clouds these days )
Surface book 2 not charging
Hello, I noticed today my surface book 2 does not charge while plugging in the charger. I tried both while docking the keyboard in laptop mode and in tablet mode but both does not show any indication of charging. I also noticed the charger does not light up that white led to indicate charging.

2021-01-05T23:33:19+00:00 Same issue here, charger plug die after 8 mont and just after a replacement of the surfacebook2.
I don't use a lot my surfacebook, got working station, nuc etc... So for a very few hours of use during less than one year got a full replacement and now a charger issue now...
Clearly surfacebook are just crappy hardware overpriced... Got less issue with cheap acer, huawei or computer under 500 euros...

2020-12-17T01:23:46+00:00 I have the same experience with surface laptop 2 : liquid damage and no charging with different charger. However, I have tried to open the keyboard pad and pour 99% isopropyl alcohol to the whole board especially the charging port and shake it. I dried it with a room fan for few hours and after it dried, it charged completely fine. But then I experience touchscreen bubble and I have to disable touchscreen, may be you just only need to soak the charging port in 99% isopropyl alcohol .

2020-10-29T18:53:13+00:00 I narrowed it down to the connection - seems like the magnetic port on the surface itself is flimsy at best. Sometimes just a slight nudge or tap on my desk will disconnect it. So my $2000 laptop is at the mercy of a 50 cent part. Would much rather have an old school adapter connection than this garbage. Appalling design choice for such a critical part of a laptop and classic example of Msft's desperate attempts to be cool, when what we really want - and have a right to expect - is RELIABILITY.
