Surface Pro 5 fan stops working after installing firmware update

Hi

I have a Surface Pro 2017, i7, 8GB, 256 but in recent month the fan is not turning on in any working condition. previously I can heard easily the sound of the fan but now its not turn on anyway.

    Same problem here. From my contact with support they suggested a replacement, but since my Surface is out of warranty I will have to pay for that.

    I will wait a couple months to see if they release a new firmware fixing it. But I think they will have a huge problem if this keeps happening to insiders.

    I seem to have the same problem, I think it started in late December. I wasn't aware of the lack of fan at first, but noticed the sluggish performance. Today the machine shut down with a large 'thermometer' icon on screen because it had overheated.

    I really hope this can be fixed by a firmware update and doesn't need hardware replacement.
