Hi saiedbaran,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns and have been investigating. An update has been flighted to Windows Insiders that we believe addresses this problem and are evaluating that update for release on Windows Update.

Please stay tuned and continue to check for Surface and Windows Updates to ensure your device has the most current firmware and software available.

Note: Marking as "Answered" to raise visibility for now. We will update this response once the fix has been published.

Greg

Breaking news: the support guy who I'm speaking with right now has been instructed to tell me that I forfeited to any support since I accepted terms and conditions of the insider program...

    Imagine this:

    • You have a device from Microsoft
    • You join the insider program to make sure the apps you're working on still work in future versions of Windows
    • You receive a firmware update through Windows Update which causes a problem with your device
    • The device malfunctions due to that
    • You don't get any support since you're part of the insider program

If word gets out then NOONE is joining the insider program anymore, so Microsoft: get ready to invest in your own test department, with such conditions I'm not willing to do this for free anymore, breaking my Surface device and then telling me it's my own fault????

    Exactly my thoughts.

My colleague uses it during the summer time, I gladly borrowed it. No idea where he got it from, however if you do a search for USB desk fan, you'll find a lot of them ;-)

Thanks... This problem caused me to do a warrenty exchage, which is kind of good as the battery in my previous one is failing.

Also I have contacted MS Surface support about this in chat, said they will look into it.
