Surface Pro 5 fan stops working after installing firmware update

Hi

I have a Surface Pro 2017, i7, 8GB, 256 but in recent month the fan is not turning on in any working condition. previously I can heard easily the sound of the fan but now its not turn on anyway.

    Yes although it appears as if they altered some thresholds before the fan starts to spin, it now takes more heat before it spins up. This could also be the sign of heat damage after prolonged overheating during the last few months ;-)

    I see firmware 239.121.139.0 update in progress.

    I ended up having my Surface replaced under warranty - which meant a 7 day round trip from the UK to Germany. Not ideal.

    Won't be adding this one to Insider as I can't afford any more setbacks like this. Shame really, I enjoyed getting those updates.

    Finally my Surface doesn't overheat anymore! So why did this take almost 3 months to escalate sufficiently high to get noticed and fixed?
