Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

The thing that **** me off is the lack of open communication from Microsoft about this. There is almost NO information coming directly from Microsoft acknowledging the problem, detailing the problem, what is being done, and possible workarounds. Mostly we see comments here from Microsoft MVP (not employees) and a very occasional note from someone directly working on the Surface team at Microsoft. We are providing tons of very specific information about multiple bands issues, Hyper-V impact on wifi, etc. and all we get back from Microsoft is "we're just trying to work on improvements," which is what you do all the time for every product. No one at Microsoft is truly owning this. How widespread is it? What does your testing show?

I was getting the expected 300mbs. After the update things went sour and I am back to link speeds somewhere between 100-144mbs. Pretty lame...

That is still pretty amazing, the SP3's I tested before giving to employee's seemed to be hard limited at 72megabit no matter what the wireless card synced up at.

Are you able to comment on how widespread the low throughput issue on 2.4ghz networks (e.g. 72mbps and below) is on the machines you're procuring?

Is it all machines or only limited to certain units/firmware versions?

And to get real help.

I work for a large corporate bank in NYC and we've been piloting the SP3. We've deployed about 20 so far and every single one has the limited 2.4Ghz wireless speed issue. The biggest complaints are all based around the wireless speeds when pulling down large files off sharepoints on our intranet. This problem is literally the only thing stopping the head of IT from adopting the Surface Pro 3 as the go to for our front office users.

Agreed, but first they need to make sure it actually works so the card is reliable 100% of the time, before the 10/28 update it was 99% reliable finally! and now we are back to square one.
