Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

    Hello, sorry to report that the Wi-Fi once again gets disabled after sleep.  Prior to this firmware update on 10/28, the Wi-Fi was very reliable.  After the firmware update, I have had to reboot the SP3 at least 3 times so that the network connection would reset and enable the Wi-Fi adapter. 

    When this happens, I can't even select option to put in Airport mode at all, the only solution is to reboot it which is really not nice.

    Basically the firmware update broke what was already working for me.  And this has nothing to do with the hardware that it is connecting to, it basically disables the network adapters and there is no way to re-activate them except rebooting.

    Not good.

    I just logged on to report this myself - I too now find my Wifi adapter disappears after sleep.  Device Manager reports that the device cannot start due to a driver issue.

    This is a step backwards.  While speeds were not great, at least Wifi was reliable on my SP3.  Now, I have to reboot several times a day.  

    This is really not acceptable.  I'm sure these are not isolated cases.  Is there any way to revert the firmware?

    just wondering, have you tried forgetting all known wifi SSIDS and reconnecting?

    I haven't seen the issue in awhile.(I was using my disable/re-enable script but recently turned that off.

    The problem is not that it can't connect to a single ssid but the wireless card is disabled so it can't connect to anything. Basically the sp3 thinks there is no network card present when it wakes up and for that matter while it is sleep no emails are being checked as well.

    Only a reboot re enables the network card.

    Has anyone tried removing the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi driver from device manager and letting the system re-detect it. If you go so far as to remove(delete) drivers from the system, make sure you download the Surface Drivers first.

    My current Bluetooth driver is version 15.68.3059.117 (9/16/2014)
