Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

    Microsoft - the slow wifi problem has NOT been resolved. Please keep working on this issue urgently.

    I agree.  The whole point of having a tablet PC is that it travels with you - so most of the time, it isn't possible to tweak the wireless network you are using.

    As of this writing (6 October 2014), the Surface Pro 3's 2.4GHz performance is still appalling.  And the dual-band issues still haven't been resolved.

    Please can a Microsoft representative provide an update.  When will these issues be addressed?

    Yes, please tell us, Microsoft... It's clear that this issue is still occurring - has this been acknowledged? Is a fix being worked on?

    Agreed. Problem has not been fixed.

    Recently purchased a SP3 i5 256GB. Put a test file onto dropbox. My desktop and mobile phone connected on wifi d/l the file at >5MB/s. SP3 connected on the same network maxed out at 379 kB/s. I was really not expecting this difference. Potentially a total deal breaker for me.

    Come on Microsoft! I'm connected to my Aerohive AP at 270Mbps, transfers wont go over 60Mbps. Fix this already!!!

    Also fix it preferring 2.4Ghz! I didn't want to have separate SSID's

    HI Barb,

    Have been travelling so delay in response.

    OK... I connected to the 5Ghz.  went to speedtest.net.  Page loaded reasonably ok... but it took 45 seconds before I got the ping test back.  (which was then 10ms).   and I got a download test error after 3minutes of waiting on the actual test.   At which stage when I chose "try again" it said you're not connected to a network.  

    BTW:  on my desktop @ home I get an instant ping and 60Mb/s download.  My Dell latitude on the 5Ghz gets instant ping and a 36Mb/s download.

    Therefore problem is not user, problem is not 5Ghz network, problem is not ISP.

    On the 2Ghz band I get ping 15ms and download 1.2mbs

    I repost because Zach_T does not say Microsoft is continuing to look at this. He implies that 2.4GHz problems were fixed in the September 9 release (although 2.4 plus 5 GHz dual-band issues remain), but they were not for me.

    Yes... +1 to that... the Zach-T post implies it's now fixed... whereas everyone on the thread is saying it's not.. (and possibly it was even the 9/9 update that *causes* the error)
