Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

    I don't have anyone around me using 5G band other than my wireless phones at home. So I think that that's part of the problem. I wonder the phones at what or close to what channel they are transmitting.

    that explains things. 5.8GHz phone and 5GHz wifi - least interference using lower channels. I use DECT 1.9 GHz phones here.

    so I see why you have issues with the upper bands,

    It would be interesting to see if others with issues also have 5.8Ghz cordless phones.

    So I would say that in the setup I have tried with different routers, every other device works just fine with the AC router and in the AC band.  The SP3 is the only device that is very flaky with the AC band and should NOT be flaky.  I should not have to be changing my router settings (which are the defaults anyway) in order to accommodate the SP3 faulty WiFi driver.

    The latest updates made it better but they still need more work to make it work like any other laptop, tablet, or phone.  My HP laptop connects to the AC band just fine and never drops, same for other Android tablets, etc.

    I agree you should not have to fiddle with settings. I'm only comparing what works for ME with what others are posting. I tested briefly with a WRT1900 but with my preferred settings, not defaults I don't see the issues others are seeing as mine were fixed July 16.

    Well, I'm replacing my phones at home. That was overdue and we will know next week if that was of least  if that was part or the whole problem.
