I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

i got this from another thread and has fixed my problem. you should try these steps if you've exhausted all other methods.
Enable Hyper-V to expose advanced power options settings, restart, open power options, click change plan settings, click advanced settings, expand wireless adapter power settings, change to max performance. Disable Hyper-V and restart. Now connects everytime and fixes connection speed display
I have the same problem on 802.11n networks. Speeds are woefully slow and sometime wireless drops off conpletely and the SP3 doesn't "see" any network adapters on board necessitating a re-boot.
Another problem, sometimes it doesn't wake up from hibernate after sitting overnight and other times it wont wake up from sleep or atleast the screen doesn't come back.
I found a workaround for my slow WIFI connection. I have a Linksys E1500 type N router. It is a 2.4 Ghz router (not dual band). I used to consistently get only 3 Mbps download speed, when the router was in Mixed mode (to support B/G/N connections). I changed the router to "Wireless B/G only". Now I am getting 20 Mbps download and 17 Mbps upload. For me that is a workable solution until hopefully MS comes with a firmware update. By the way my other computers were getting 58 Mbps download speed before when my router was in Mixed mode.
To me this looks like a compatibility problem between the Marvell network adapter and the 2.4 Ghz type N Linksys router.
I was testing my sp3 WiFi and noticed that the ac wireless ramps up base on need and the 2.4 does not. I transferred a 2gb file and the ac speed ramped up to 833mbps. The same file transferred on 2.4 remained at 6mbps. My conclusion from this is that the power management of the 2.4 is not ramping up based on need. I can not find the power management of the marvel wireless card. Any clues to where they are would be very helpful. I want to test at max power.
They shipped the SP3 with the power management option disabled so users don't change it. I read that if you enable Hyper-V and reboot, that will enable the power management tab of the wireless card, however if you do that and change the power management to run at maximum always, then the WiFi will be running full power always and not as it was intended. I have not tested what it will mean for battery life and most importantly, you want the WiFi to be running in power management because when the SP3 is in standby mode, it can still run notifications. It is unclear if enabling Hyper-V will disable this feature. Let us know what impact that has.
