Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

ok, some bad news.  After testing the update from 7/16, the Surface Pro 3 has been disconnecting from the WiFi constantly. My initial tests yesterday were premature since I had the PC on most of the day yestreday and the speed increased but the WiFi disconnects all the time coming out of sleep now.   Last night as I was using it putting it into sleep and out of sleep constantly, it lost the WiFi connection over 5 times!

In fact, it gets to the point where it just says "Limited" connection and the only solution is to reboot the PC.

I am not sure if other users are having the same problem after the 7/16 update now.  But it is quite noticeable with this latest update from 7/16.  Before the 7/16 it was quite stable, not fast, but stable.

Hello, first, the updates from last week plus the 7/16 update made the WiFi connection on the SP3 very stable to my N/AC router, but not very good to the G router (go figure).  It made big difference and I am hoping that the next updates will continue to improve stability and reliability.  WiFi must be solid in the Surface Pro 3 so it is accepted as a reliable device.

Now, here are my findings in regards with speed, I have all the machines, router and switches in a 1 Gb configuration with CAT 6 cabling.  I use Speakeasy.net speed test.  My internet is 50 Mb down and 5 Mb up.

• Connected to an G router:  Copying files in the LAN: unable to test due to old router's configuration, internet 24 Mb Down, 4 Upload.  
• Connected to an N router:  Copying files in the LAN: 96 Mb, internet 49 Mb Down, 4.5 Upload.  
• Connected to an AC router:  Copying files in the LAN: 240 Mb, internet 49 Mb Down, 5.5 Upload.  

I see a great improvement on the LAN speed, not to mention how stable it has been plus the battery also lasts a bit longer.  

Overall I say it is great that Microsoft took this seriously and fixed the software so that the product can be used and appreciated for what it it.  Now, if they can refine it even further I am all for that, just please do not break it again.....:)

what does speedtest.net show?

I'm connecting at 850-900 Mbps, getting file transfer rates of only 10-11MBps, I expected more performance. 

Seems stable now at least.  WRT1900 router

Just received and installed the 7/16 update and am reporting in:

Unfortunately, no noticeable difference after update and restart.  WiFi link speed is still maxing out around 72 Mbps from my Surface Pro 3 to my 802.11ac router at full signal strength.

As I mentioned before, that's roughly 10% of the link speed my other ac devices are reporting. Really bad for transfers across my local network.
