Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

@newpop1 If Microsoft engineers just wanted to increase the performance to the Surface Pro 3's wireless solution I'm 100% certain that they could. The issue here is that they are trying to increase performance while at the same time deal with bluetooth interference on the 2.4Ghz spectrum and maximize battery life. I'm guessing here but I believe that the compact and thin design of the Surface Pro 3 is causing issues that a simple device driver can't resolve. The main problem I have with all this is that Microsoft refuses to give it's customers manual options when it comes to wireless performance. They should provide a toggle that lets the end user select whether they want increased wireless performance at the expensive of battery life or vice versa.

Hello, this firmware update has disabled my SP3 network card for good. I had to pull back out my nano WiFi adapter just so I can go back online.  the original problems of network card disabled from sleep, 'limited' connectivity on WiFi icon, slowness when connecting to an AC router to the point that the upload speed is non-existing, it is all back.

I wish I would have not done the firmware update now.  prior to the 10/28 update the sp3 was finally awesome. This is kind of sad really.

Luckily I have the nano USB WiFi adapter which works flawlessly.  I don't understand why this $9 adapter can be so great and the internal WiFi adapter of the SP3 is so bad.

Too bad, you need to pull back the firmware update fast and revert back to the last firmware somehow,

Okay folks.  Can you folks that are now WORSE than you were in September email me at susan-at-msmvps.com (change the -at-) to @.  I can't promise anything (obviously) but I want to get some contacts of impacted customers so I can see if we can get to the bottom of this.

I was getting the expected 300mbs. After the update things went sour and I am back to link speeds somewhere between 100-144mbs. Pretty lame...

That is still pretty amazing, the SP3's I tested before giving to employee's seemed to be hard limited at 72megabit no matter what the wireless card synced up at.

I prepped 4 Surface Pro 3 tablets and what I did was disable bluetooth. That doubles the 802.11 g/n speed to 144mbps. It's definitely not a fix but it does help a bit if the client doesn't need bluetooth for their day to day work load.
