Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

    Ok. So now looks like Iam getting 144Mbs...Which is better than before but still not full 300Mbs that I get with all other devices. My model is i7, router is N. I think this is progress in the right direction (for N routers), but still not quite there yet. Please update your engineers to keep working on this issue, it has not been resolved all the way yet....

    My SP3 just installed Firmware Update 09/09/2014 - I now can't connect to my A.P. The SSID appears after a few minutes, but when trying to connect I see 'Verifying and connecting', then 'Can't connect to this network'.

    The A.P. is a D-Link DAP1360. I've changed channels, radios etc. but no joy. My other devices are still connecting.

    Edit - Completely reset my AP, changed the SSID and can connect again. Link speed now hovers around 144Mbps and speed tests show 50+mbps (previously 25mbps), but best of all, file transfers over my LAN are now 10MB/s which is around 4x faster! Not perfect, but I can at least get on with things now.

    Can we hit 300Mbps next? ;)

    Edit 2 - A few hours in, browsing and the connection dropped to limited. Other devices still connected. I'm now back to the original problem above that had never happened prior to the 9/9 update. I'm able to connect directly to a weaker signal from my router. AP and router are 802.11n 2.4ghz.

    I'm still having problems, which appear to be tied to bluetooth.   If I turn off power to my bluetooth mouse the 2.4 band reports a link speed of 144.   If I then turn on the bluetooth mouse  the link speed drops to 72.  If I then turn off the mouse, the speed returns to 144.  I can get the speed to cycle reliably between 72 and 144 based on whether the mouse is turned on or off.
