Surface Pro7 Frequent Errors and Blue Screen Problems

I bought a Surface Pro 7 last week and have had the same issue with frequent BSODs.

• When using the device normally
• When not using the device, but with the display on
• When downloading large files
• When waking the device up from sleep
• When attempting to restore from a fresh recovery image
• When trying to run windows update sometimes

Most common BSOD is the IRQL_DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL one, but I get something like SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED fairly often as well.

I've attempted the following things:

• Installing all windows updates
• Downloading and installing the SP7 driver pack from MS's support site
• Running the 'fresh start' option
• Creating a recovery USB and using that to restore to 'factory settings', then re-running updates
• Trying out a Windows Insider build in case that somehow had a fix

Still, no luck. Unfortunately I bought from Amazon (sold by MS still) so I don't believe that taking it to a Microsoft store is an option. I'm really hoping this isn't a hardware issue and that a driver/firmware update could resolve it.

Unfortunately I've here the same problem with a brand new Surface Pro 7 (i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB flash).

No third-party software or antivirus programs installed beside the WINDOWS defender. Newest OS (1909) and patches.

Random BSOD (~3/d).

The Surface is a nice gadget but this is not acceptable.

More than 50 persons with the same problem and not any helpful reply from MS.

I bought it on Amazon germany (for a good price) but they're unable to send me another one.

That's frustrating, but I'll have to send it back.

many threads have been started about this issue. Got mine in november, problems started in december (probably after updates) couldnt fix it no matter what troubleshooting they had me try. ended up sending for a replacement in Feb, but since my mailing address is an APO, my brother back stateside had to be the "middle man" to send it back to me. just got it back today and its working so far with no blue screens. we'll see after updates.

long story short, to fix this problem, just get it replaced.

Hello Microsoft product quality team, 

Can you please take a look at this long thread of postings where your customers are screaming about?

Because of shelther-in-place order from China COVID-19 pandemic, MS Surface Pro users are not having access to offline MS Store and this makes Surface users suffer from its product quality. 

Please make suggestions about relevant corrctive actions and Don't you have plan to call it a defective product line and get them recalled? If MS is a morally healthy company, you should listen to what customers are screaming for.

Same issue on my Surface pro 7 8gb 256ssd. Just bought on May the 6th 2020. When in a video Skype meeting randomly the system blows up with a blue screen (3 times in a row then I moved to my smartphone) . Right now with the power cable plugged Skype video meeting seems to work, but you know if I have to always keep charging my surface when using Skype, I had bought a desktop.

I also attempted option 4 with no luck since today I changed the option on the Intel graphics center and got the blue screen after 20 mins of video call. 

Additionally, it already happened twice, that when going in suspended mode (in battery mode) there is no way to resume it, other than keep pressed the power button for 40 seconds. 

Said that I really like surface usability/design/performance /responsiveness and I wouldn't want to return it.

Please Microsoft team recognize that something is going wrong and kindly provide a clear position and action in order to get solved this very spread issue. I'm still believing I bought one of the best convertible 2 in 1 pc, don't tell me isn't true. 

 I have time till June the 6th in order to take this very sad decision and move to other brands. 

I'll do my best to provide additional information through the support channel.
