Surface Pro7 Frequent Errors and Blue Screen Problems

Dear Microsoft Community,

A week ago I bought a brand-new Surface Pro 7. I am a big Surface fan and was very excited to use my new device for the purpose of my studies.

My system configuration is a Surface Pro 7 with an Intel® Core™ i5 – 1034G4 CPU, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

I updated Windows 10 to the most recent version and, so far, did not install third-party software on the device. I connected an original Microsoft Surface Pen and a Microsoft Surface Type Cover. No other hardware was connected.

During the usage I soon experienced very frequent Blue Screens and restarts as a result. These Blue Screens happened in tablet mode as well as in desktop mode. As the problems with Blue Screens became so frequent that I was unable to use the device for my everyday work, and their stop codes did not even allow me to trace back the actual error, I became very frustrated.

In the attached pictures I documented a use scenario, where I used my Surface Pro 7 with normal (office and Microsoft Edge surfing) workload. Within this 45 minutes use case scenario, I encountered 6 Blue Screens (1:01; 1:05; 1:11; 1:23; 1:26; and 1:38 pm), all with different stop codes.

Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Tim

    Hello,

I had the same problem when disconnecting my Surface Pro 7 from HDMI. I installed the latest Intel Graphics Windows 10 DCH Drivers from this site:

    Downloads for Graphics (intel.com)

I have no problems any more, no bluescreen, everything is working correctly.

new surface pro 7 aswell, core i3 model.

i think the problem is related due to faulty camera drivers and windows hello.

in my case, the camera gest bugged after hello failes to recognize me, the camera led stays on, an then i cant acces the camera, minutes after, i get blue screen with error code "PFN_LIST_CORRUPTED", or something like that, it gets fixed after a restart, so no hardware issues i guess.

today ms released a firmware update, ill test and see.

im almos sure its a driver issue.

EDIT: I THINK ITS FIXED, BUT NOT BY THE UPDATE

today i recreated the isue,i found out its related to the windows camera app. ill explain

after hello fails to recognize, if i try to open the camera with the camera app, BSOD appears, what i did is restarting and delteting all of the app data, and the issue got fixed. i did the steps again, and no BSOD

Either their is a patch on the business unit and not on the home Edition or there is a memory or controller hardware issue on these units. I am leaning toward the latter.

I would also think it is the later, but we can not be sure but in combination how brocken 2004 is on the Surface Pro 7 it could be true.

For me it looks like we will be stuck on 1909 untiled the next version of 20.. or even 21... , when the support for 1909 goes untie 22.

    Hi,

Unfortunately I've here the same problem with a brand new Surface Pro 7 (i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB flash).

No third-party software or antivirus programs installed beside the WINDOWS defender. Newest OS (1909) and patches.

    Random BSOD (~3/d).

The Surface is a nice gadget but this is not acceptable.

More than 50 persons with the same problem and not any helpful reply from MS.

I bought it on Amazon germany (for a good price) but they're unable to send me another one.

That's frustrating, but I'll have to send it back.

    Bye,

    Oliver
