To add-on, when Surface is frozen, the screen turns very dark but can still see contents on the screen. Short pressing of power key has no effect.
Surface Pro 7 Freezing and Restarting
I just purchased the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and have only been using it for one day. In that time it has frozen and completely restarted itself 4 times. It is brand new and I probably only have an hour or two or screen time. There is no specific thing that causes it, the screen just randomly freezes until the surface restarts on it's own. Any solutions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue here. Bought Surface Pro 7 about 1 months ago for daughter school use. Started class this week, and it freezes every few minutes. It can freeze when watching video, or after saving a file... I need to get it solved it quickly. Quite disappointed.

2019-12-30T22:36:02+00:00 Yes I have done that and also downloaded all the most recent firmware from Microsoft and installed that. I also reset windows and that didn't fix it either. I ended up exchanging it at best buy this morning and all has been well with the replacement so far. On the replacement I see that their is a firmware update it has pending a restart. I am curious if the problem will re appear. If I remember correctly I think my first Surface worked fine for the first day I had it.
