Surface Pro 3 short battery life

I was wondering if I have a defective unit. I have an i5 surface pro 3 and I only get about 4 hours of battery life playing YouTube videos at about 40 % brightness and about 5 hours of web browsing.  The computer shuts off when I am just below 10 % battery left. What are you guys getting?

    My SP3 has an i7 256 GB. And when fully charged, battery saver on and only using Excel or Word. The battery will only last for 2 to 3 hours....!! Not good I would say...

    I agree.  The really bad part is the cycling of the internal battery will shorten its life.  All of us having this problem will end up coughing up money soon for new batteries.

    Holy cow!  I run mine at almost zero blank screen and still get horrible battery life.

    Actually, this is my second device. I replaced my first device due to the yellow screen band problem. That device did have a battery life of almost 8 hours. My cousin also has a SP3 with a battery life of 8 hours or so. Thus, IT IS a problem. Hightime MS acknowledges this.

    Can we just send in our devices for replacement?
