My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

Hi All,
We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

I seriously hate Apple's stuff and I wanted to be Microsoft's fanboy but my SP4 has been nothing but nightmares.. One I am so worried the battery will fail prematurely after the first year due to over heating each and every time and second I am afraid this might be a fire hazard when I am not around and it's burning hot.
Come on Microsoft! This is a serious hazard and I can't believe you guys haven't fixed this issue and the product is already approaching EOL. If this is an hardware issue, please just recall it and fix it for us, stop trying to use software patch to keep our hope alive and only fail us over and over like you have done for the past 6 months.
What about exchanging it since it must still be under warranty? That worked for me.
Could -- but surely this is not a hardware problem, no? If I exchanged would need to rebuild the system from scratch which I could also do here. If I restored from a backup of this to a new one, that would just recreate the problem I fear. Anybody know how I can get the update that failed to install to install? The windows update diagnostic tool doesn't find anything.
Exchanging is not a problem, however seems like everyone is having this issues no? Or am I and a few others are the lucky ones?
I have exchanged my SP4 the very first week when I first bought it from Best Buy, I was going to return it but Best Buy didn't want to loose the sale and insist that my problem can be solved with a replacement unit.. and guess what? You know the answer...
