My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

No, that's about what you'll get. An iPad doesn't have a full featured OS like a Surface device does, therefore with iOS or Chrome OS you draw less battery life. The Surface will never have the battery life that another light featured OS tablet will have since it's basically an entire PC functionality on a tablet. To compare the two
is outright craziness. An iPad is just a media consumption device. If you want an iPad buy an iPad. As time goes on, battery life will improve with newer revisions. For right now, about 4-6 is what we're all getting.
I followed the instructions to correct the file system corruption. I have not had a hot-bag / power drain issue since I did this on the 16th. Things are looking up!
On a side note: A while ago I had to uninstall the I-Heart-Radio app as it would never let my computer enter a sleep state. (Now I just use the web site). I would have a drain of 2-3% per hour because of that app. Now I'm seeing less than 1%/hour.
I am still getting this problem although it improved a bit after the update.
I've been having this problem for the last few weeks with my Surface 3 Pro. Coincidentally I changed from a SP3 keyboard to a SP4 keyboard about that time. Don't know if that is related or not but usually when I encounter the problem I see it after putting it in sleep by simply closing the keyboard.
But the last few days I've found something that works for me. Kill Edge before folding it up. Since I've been doing that I haven't had it occur again. Note that I tried to reproduce this by simply opening Edge and putting it to sleep but it didn't happen. It seems that when I use Edge during my normal workday I accumulate several open tabs and I'm guessing that at some point that causes Edge to become unstable.
Anyway, something for others to try and see if that helps.
