My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

No difference in drain with the beta driver :( Still see the same GPU/CPU in the sleep report. I know with the July driver that my drain rate during sleep was lower, around 550 mW per hour.
Well, that was very unhelpful!
Last night I did an online chat with Surface team, and they said that this is an isolated incident and that 70% of the time they have been able to fix this issue. So they asked to take control of my PC and I said OK. They totally fudged it up. Now I'm downloading the image that Microsoft hosts and I'm just going to start anew. Regardless, just to see, I charged it up last night, and I turned it on and put it to sleep now. I'll come back in an hour. If it's still draining, then the Surface team wasted my time (well over an hour and a half) and now I have to start again.
Experts my behind... They're going to eat into my Sunday just trying to get my Surface the way I liked it!
Through what website did you communicate with this Surface team? Did they say how they would fix it? I'm curious to know what it was they were trying to do when they did the remote assist.
surface.com and then they redirected me to a LogMeIn Rescue applet.
Mostly DISM and some powershell. They also edited my msconfig and some registry, and disabled all my apps to start up. Something with powershell I imagine ruined it and I couldn't open any app from the store, or even the store. It was sluggish and gave me errors. So... Redid it. Last time I'm letting Surface team take control of my device! Haha. I'm sure they had the best of their intentions at heart, but... Come on... Today I spent 4 hours reformatting and installing everything again.
