i5/256 Surface Pro 4 overheats and battery drains while 'sleeping'

My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.

(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.

We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.

To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

    It's not abnormal for them to drain fast in the first few days due to indexing and a variety of other initial maintenance tasks. But Windows Hello creates is very own problem, and that one will not go away. Not until Microsoft fixes it.

    This worked for me. Someone else mentioned something about indexing...I had to reset my index once because Windows was constantly indexing and that seemed to fix that problem.

    Yes, my Pro 4 i5/256 can get quite hot while asleep. After a few days it seemed to calm down and would sleep overnight on the living room couch and use less than 10% battery. It still can't decide to behave itself all the time. My simple snooping showed a lot of indexing going on at first - I'm not sure what it's doing some other times. I do have Hello enabled now. It wasn't at first when the sleeping disorder was even worse.

    Here's hoping the Microsoft engineers figure this out soon. For me it's just annoying. I imagine others are really upset.
