I have installed the January 2016 SP4 firmware update, which markedly improved excessive fan use, and problems waking from Sleep. But now when I use Sleep, it gets warm. For example, I check in the morning after it has been in Sleep for 8 hours, and the
back of the unit is quite warm, and this is Plugged and Docked. It only seems to run warm after being in sleep for many hours, haven't yet determined if there is a threshold of time for this to happen.
Anyone else experiencing this? I think the firmware fix has not been sufficient. I think I will return to using Hibernate after 4 or 5 hours of sleep, and perhaps just shut it down for the night. My older SP3 does just fine on continual Sleep, as have
every desktop/laptop I've ever owned.
Addendum: I wrote this while it was warm, and after finishing this note, it is cool, fan did not come on. Odd, gets warmer sleeping then when used!
