My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

There are several posts around the various forums that the driver fix is supposed to be released today (as suggested in a recent post elsewhere on this forum pointing to Paul Thurrott's site). It appears we've been waiting for Microsoft to certify the was released by Intel on December 22, 2015.
We'll see. It's not in Windows Update yet, and no Microsoft pages mention this update.
It pains me to think this, but given the novel-length list of unfixed problems spanning more than a YEAR (beginning with preview versions) across both desktop and mobile versions of the OS, not to mention the apology of a browser called Edge, our hopes should not be high.
The last thing you said is correct. Surface will not go into sleep immediately even though you give the sleep instruction. It depends on the settings of "pc goes to sleep after XX minutes"! If this settings is 10 mins, surface will still run on high activity after you push the power button until 10 mins passes. This is so weird! There are too many buggy designs of windows 10 which cause bad user experience!
That's interesting. So far I haven't had any issues with wi-fi or screen flickering which seem to be the problems associated with hyper-v. I'll keep watching out.
