My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

Hi All,
We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

Just to let you know that I think the Surface Pro 4 is a truly remarkable piece of technology and I am over the moon with it.
But and it is a big BUT I purchased this from Currys PC World in the UK for a high end price and on the basis of being able to play video for up to 9 hours. That is a battery intensive function and I doubt I could get much over 3 hours out of this right now! That's a big leap and I trust you will make it.
Apart from that it is brilliant.
Why does Microsoft keep avoiding the subject of these devices either losing battery while off or in hibernation mode.
They're not avoiding the issue. Microsoft has openly acknowledged it and states that they are working on a fix.
The issue is not hibernate or sleep. The issue is hibernate causes battery drain! Why does Microsoft keep avoiding the subject of these devices either losing battery while off or in hibernation mode. It is filled with bugs.
