i5/256 Surface Pro 4 overheats and battery drains while 'sleeping'

My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.

(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.

We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.

To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

    You don't need to disable Connected Standby to see Hibernate as a power option.

    Control Panel -> Power Options -> Choose What Closing The Lid Does -> Change Settings That Are Currently Unavailable -> Check 'Hibernate' in Shutdown settings

    In order to be able to hibernate, you need disable connected standby and can then select Hibernate from the Power menu.

    I'm running the latest Insider Build and if I hibernate at night with 100% battery, it wakes up in the morning with 100%.  I'm seeing no battery loss in hibernation.

    Hi: I am not exactly sure what "insider build" really means or if it should make a difference but I have a different question that also relates to the battery drain:  I have noticed that the fan has started staying on while conducting minimal tasks, such as scrolling through Facebook posts.   Last night it stayed on for nearly 15-20 minutes at a high speed.  I also noted that the battery was low (around 25 percent) when it came on.   My unit is an i5 with 4 gigs of ram  

    I had issues with the fan coming on when I purchased it along with the battery drain and a Microsoft tech reset all of the drivers and the issue went away but it appears that it might have returned.  It is becoming a very difficult task of trying to decide whether to keep this device in hopes of Microsoft fixing these issues.  Carrying around an expensive tablet whose fan blows and batteries only last a couple of hours is not what I would call sensible.  Your thoughts on this please!
