My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

The problem started for me with the Threshold 2 update.
I haven't heard anything definitive about working on a fix. The last thing I heard from them here was to apply the November 18th update, which didn't help.
I'm not so sure the 11/18 update isn't what broke this. I installed the 1511 update on 11/13. I don't recall noticing the battery issue until I installed the 11/18 firmware/cumulative update for 1511 on 11/18.

Right, and what you quoted from me is to disable connected standby, which is a completely different thing. Sorry if the way I worded it came across as the same thing.
