i5/256 Surface Pro 4 overheats and battery drains while 'sleeping'

My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.

(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.

We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.

To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

    The overheating problem is back with the fall creators update.

    Since the update my fan has continuously been spinning, and today it briefly turned off (it's a hot day - just under 90 degrees)

    mine still overheats occasionally when in sleep mode. this happened one time while flying, was pretty alarming to take out the computer from overhead luggage and find just how hot it was. the next samsung note?

    now it is just overheating regularly while running basic programs. about a week ago the fan began firing up constantly. this didn't happen before.

    Mines OK now, I just turned off Windows Hello a couple of weeks after buying it.

    It's a pointless add on anyway so there is no need to replace my tablet, it's just as easy to sign in with either pin or password.

    I guess if Kimberley wants this feature then replacement is her only real option, unless they have brought out another update in the last four months to fix this problem on the newer tabs.
