Remote Desktop Connetion displays Very Small Icons and Jump Lists on Remote Machine

On my remote machine, the desktop icons, icon titles, taskbar and jump lists are puny, very difficult to read the small font size.

I've tried all of the various display/sizing options in my Surface's control panel, and also the display setting tab in Remote Desktop Connection, and have not found any comnbination that works well on the remote and Surface Pro 3. (Also, the sizing options are not so convenient anyway since a sign out is generally needed.)

 I've never had this problem and regularly use RDP on various machines. Are there others with RDP display issues?

    Thanks for the reply - can you tell me more about the use of RDCman - is that something you loaded ON the SP3 or did you have to load it onto the server?  Once loaded on the SP3 - was it complicated to configure etc?  I only briefly reviewed it's use - may have even downloaded it - however had no luck in connecting from what I recall.

    Install RDCMan 2.2 on your SP3 only:

    There are some specific instructions earlier in this thread but feel free to ask if you have more questions.

    BTW, Metro apps on the remote machine won't work when connecting via RDCMan, in my experience.

    I downloaded it on my SP3 after reading Frank's post. I didn't know how to add the remote server at first but I found another blog online that has step by step instructions. I did all the required steps and was so happy that I can actually read the characters. The only downside is that I can't print.

    I unchecked the INHERENT FROM PARENT under LOCAL RESOURCES and checked PRINTERS and CLIPBOARDS.  Still, my local printers are not showing up :( since I'm not an IT person, I think that something on the SP3 windows setting is preventing RDCMan to pull the local printers.

    Thanks for the tip Frank, using the Remote Desktop connection manager v 2.2 fixed my problem!

    I am now connected to my work PC with the perfect scaling and resolution.  I tweaked the settings a bit differently and got great results using the RDP Manager v2.2.  I ended up leaving the "Display Settings" tab alone (inherit from parent checked) but change some settings on the "remote desktop setting tab."

    I unchecked Inherit from parent and then below I chose Full screen.

    Works like a charm.

    Do your Modern UI apps work on the remote when you're remoted in using RdcMan?
