Remote Desktop Connetion displays Very Small Icons and Jump Lists on Remote Machine

On my remote machine, the desktop icons, icon titles, taskbar and jump lists are puny, very difficult to read the small font size.

I've tried all of the various display/sizing options in my Surface's control panel, and also the display setting tab in Remote Desktop Connection, and have not found any comnbination that works well on the remote and Surface Pro 3. (Also, the sizing options are not so convenient anyway since a sign out is generally needed.)

 I've never had this problem and regularly use RDP on various machines. Are there others with RDP display issues?

    Thank you. This workaround seems to make most things in RDP much easier to see on my Surface Pro 4. Unfortunately, command prompt is still tiny and tough to read.

    The only software I found to work is named Royal TS, which works much better, I can scale full screen remotely at 1920x1080 from my laptop with  3840x2160.  MS should learn from other company as how to fix this problem with RDC.   Download Royal TS (shareware, but free for personal use) from

    RDCM seems to lock up as if I've lost my wifi connection.

    I haven't had a wifi problem using RDCM. I use it daily.

    I'm going to try anonymous5208's suggestion, but the original suggestions have been working fine for me so far in terms of resolution, so thank you to all.

    What I came searching for is wifi drops when on RDCM.  Has anyone experienced this?  I demo software and every time I am at a customer location, RDCM seems to lock up as if I've lost my wifi connection.  I either need to be patient (not ideal since it then looks like a software issue), or turn wifi on and off.  

    Has anyone else experienced this?  I'm on a surface pro 3.
