surface book battery drain while shut down

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

    I completely shut off my SB. Not hibernate.  Not sleep. Shut it down.  Waited for keys to go dark. They did. Good. 

    Was at 100% 

    Woke up. Powered on. Battery at 93%  

    Now, you tell me how if powering off and shutting down drains the battery? 

    Many times on the weekend I don't touch my device and get on a plane. If I get on a plane and only have 80% battery left from a FULL POWER OFF state how can I actually rely on this device that I paid $2100 for?

    Any word on IF AND WHEN Microsoft will fix and/or address the following issues with SurfaceBook?

    1. Severe battery drain (even while hibernating or turned off)
    2. Intel Driver Errors
    3. Constant blue screens ('watchdog' errors and others)
    4. Other stuff...

    ??

    I need to know within a week or I'll have to think about a return. Can a moderator here please address me on these issues and when they might be addressed? Time is running out for us early adopters, and I would really hate to say I had to return a cutting-edge device with such potential.

    New display drivers did not fix the drain issue. 16% in an hour and a half sucks. Literally.

    I'm on my second Surface Book and it's the same problem.  In 24 hours of being shutdown I went to 92% overall battery but if you look it was at 86% on battery 2 (the clipboard) and 98% on the base.  So basically completely off the clipboard loses 14% of the battery in 24 hours.  It's obviously something is still drawing a pretty substantial power.  I know the rumor is the clipboard release might be the cause but it's something that needs to be addressed.  That much power loss when a device is shutdown is ridiculous.  Other laptops have had the power drain issue and it was always a BIOS/firmware update to fix it.

    I doubt that it is related to the clipboard release as we're seeing the same issue (excessive battery drain during sleep and even shutdown) on the Surface Pro 4.  Most of the guts of the two models are common, especially the firmware and drivers.  I tend to agree with your BIOS/firmware assumption.

    The more we Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book owners raise **** (you know what, expletive delete) the more likelihood that something will be corrected -- or Microsoft will buy back all of our devices.
