I don't know how one would account for the huge difference, but I set my i7, 16GB, 512GB, for Hibernate yesterday and closed the lid last night to Hibernate.
I should clarify that this is random behavior (as with reports of Sleep issues). Sometimes when I close the lid the Surface Book just doesn't quite make it into Sleep or Hibernate, so is not in a low power state.
So I think there are actually 2 issues that are getting mixed up in this thread -
- Book randomly doesn't Hibernate or Sleep properly when you close the lid, and just sits there in a higher power state using up battery.
- Book Shuts down or Hibernates properly, but even when completely shut down still uses power (but a much smaller amount than Issue 1).
